Planetary and Atmospheric Science

James is a planetary scientist with the Japanese space agency (JAXA) based just outside of Tokyo. He holds a PhD in planetary space science from the University of Leicester (UK), and previously worked as a NASA Fellow at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland, USA. Dr. O'Donoghue's research focuses on the interaction between planets and their atmospheres, notably the rings on Saturn, Jupiter's Great Red Spot, and auroras, similar to Earth's Northern and Southern Lights, on other planets.
